Rainbow Room- Judaism
Children in Rainbow Room immersed themselves in a full sensory exploration of the Jewish Festival of Tu BiShvat - which is the festival of trees. They decided to focus on Judaism as their religion of the month and engaged in a variety of activities..
They used sticks and leaves from Forest scool to create marks in paint, then further used the natural objects to create wind mobiles to be hung from the ceiling in the classroom.
As well as a citrus fruits provocation, they were also encouraged to engage in a sensory baking activity to create a traditional Jewish lemon, fig and mint cake (and they could take some home to eat too!)
There was also lots of opportunities for sensory explorations during their music and movement sessions using ribbons, scarves and hoops.
