Forest School
Here at Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest school our children attend a Forest school session once a week.
We aim to develop the children's respect and love of nature and the outdoors.
The children are encouraged to challenge themselves and take risks.
The children lead their play in the direction their curiosity takes them.
What might happen in the session:
Climbing, balancing, digging
Using basic tools
Mini-beast hunting
Using their senses to explore
Creating meals in the mud kitchen
Looking closely at the changes and growth of trees and plants
Cooking over the fire
We aim for our children to develop the following as a result of their time in the forest:
Resilience
Perseverence
Pride in their acheivements
Increased vocabularly
Confidence
Love of nature
