Term 1.2 Nativity Story in the Forest

Class: Garden Room Year: 2022 - 2023

This week the children took part in a Nativity story in the forest.
First we heard the story of the first Christmas. Then we went into the forest and followed the trail the angels had left and found the shepherds and their sheep. We smelled the grass and felt the soft woolly sheep before some children chose angel and shepherd headdresses and crooks. Then we followed the stars and we found stars and presents to explore and we smelled the frankincense. Some of the children put on headdresses to pretend to be wise men and women.
We took the presents with us on our way.
Next we followed the animals and found some to explore and to dress up as if we wanted. Lastly we found where Jesus was laying in a manger and we gave him the presents and the sheep.
We all enjoyed learning the story of the first Christmas.
