Welcome back!
Hello to all of our Sunshine Room Families and welcome to Sandy Lane Nursery and Forest School! We are so pleased to have you with us and be fortunate enough to be sharing your early years journey with you.
It has been wonderful to see our returners from the last school year back with us and all of our new children have been doing exceptionally well settling into nursery life! Due to some Covid19 restrictions now being lifted in educational settings, we are no longer required to maintain our "safety bubbles", this means that lots of stimulating, exciting and unique opportunities will resume for all of our children across all rooms; to contininue to solidify our inclusive approach to learning and exploring.
Each term the children will have a new 'direction for learning' centred around a focus text, makaton signs/story and access to a wide range of corresponding activities such as; messy play, interactive stories and music, sensory cooking/ baking sessions, woodwork, dry and wet exploratory opportunities and big art projects. The children will also be able to participate in a variety of multicultural experiences and celebrations each month as well as special events, positive wellbeing and mindfulness activities and exploring our amazing Forest School!
You will receive regular updates about your childs nursery experiences via the TAPESTRY app. including information, videos and pictures about what they have been doing during their sessions. Hopefully you will have already received some information and guidance on how to access the app and be able to see all the magical things your child gets up to each day! If you're still unsure and need any further information there is a user friendly guide right here on our website - simply go to our home page, click the 'parents' tab at the top of the screen, scroll down and click Tapestry. Alternatively, please feel free to speak to a member of the Sunshine room staff and we will be happy to help you with any queries you may have. Please remember to log into your Tapestry account regularly as this is where you will find all the important information regarding nursery events, term dates/updates, home learning and is also a way for you to communicate with the staff supporting your child by posting or writing back to us.
When visiting the website, be sure to click the "view all" tabs on our news updates and gallery items- this will allow you to see all of the wonderful activities the children participated in during the last school year and give you an insight on whats to come!
