Sunshine Room: Big Question End of Term Summary - Term 1:1 - What Do I Know About Me?- 2023/24

This half-term the children have been thinking about our 'big question'...

What do I know about me?

The children have taken part in many activities and discussions around themselves. We have looked at our faces using mirors, we have learnt all about our different features and drawn self potraits.The children have got to know all about eachother, as they have been encouraged to talk about their families, pets, friends, favourite colours and toys.Some of the children completed home learning about themselves and their families, and they have been able to share this with their peers. We have also enjoyed learning one of our focus rhymes 'head, shoulders, knees and toes'. This has helped us to name and identify our body parts. 

The children have been encouraged to talk about themselves and their families at their own level and this has helped the children to  develop a secure sense of belonging as part of our Nursery. They have been introduced to lots of vocabulary and have been encouraged to talk positivity about themselves, they have shown an increased understanding of the similarities and differences between themselves and their friends.
