SS.3.2 How have we changed?- end of term

Our big question in our summer term was 'How have we changed?'

The children enjoyed looking at baby photographs of themselves and used the mirrors to see how much their features had changed, The children also enjoyed being creative this term and participated in lots of sensory activities which included jelly play and gloop cornflour. They also had fun developing their muscles used for writing by exploring lots of painting and chalk activities.

Sully came into nursery to meet the sunshine room children . Sully showed the children all the tricks that he had learnt going to puppy school and the children enjoyed stroking Sully. Sully enjoyed being in the garden with the children and had a go of the big slide!

Having Sully join us helped the children with this terms big question of 'How have we changed?'.  Sully brought in lots of items that he used as a puppy and some things he uses now; things like his very small puppy collar and the collar he uses now.  We were able to compare the sizes of the items and the children learnt that, like them, Sully had grown alot since he was a puppy.

We enjoyed learning about different animals that feature in the book Dear Zoo.  This gave us a great opportunity to develop our physical skills in the play court as we danced and moved like animals to different music.  We also enjoyed sharing the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, learning how it changed into a beautiful butterfly, and baked some yummy butterfly cakes.
