2022 Summer term 1- "Where do plants and flowers come from?"

Sunshine Rooms BIG question for this term is: "Where do plants and flowers come from?"

The children have enjoyed going on a special bug hunt in our amazing Forest School with their Forest leader Jo!.. learning all about the life cycles of plants/flowers and the insects they could find along the way. They have spent some time delving into the story of "Jaspers beanstalk" whilst also planting and looking after their own beanstalks; observing the shoots grow and discussing what they need to do to look after their seedlings succesfully. Following on from their beanstalks, the children also planted some sunflower seeds which they could take home and utilise all they have learnt in regards to looking after them; thank you to all of our grown ups who have been posting impressive updates on Tapestry about how your sunflowers are looking! 

Also this term, Sunshine Room have continued working on their self help skills when it comes to exploratory cooking - using their safety knives properly when preparing their snack and ingrediants for their sensory baking sessions- great efforts everyone!
