Making Damper Bread - November 2023

Today in Forest school I thought we could try and make some Damper bread on the fire. First we had to make the dough washing our hands before mixing the flour, sugar and water into a ball.
When it was our turn we cleaned our hands then rolled a piece of dough into a long snake which we wrapped round a stick covered in foil.
I had to cook them over the fire, we had to be really patient as they took a long time to cook through. When they were ready we could add a few chocolate chips into the hole the stick had left in the bread and it melted in the warm dough.
Yum!
