  • At least five GCSE passes at grades 4-9 (including English and maths)
  • A sensitive approach
  • Well-developed communication skills

This vacancy would ideally suit someone who is looking for a career in business administration within the education sector.

This is a small school, offering experience across the whole range of business functions within the education environment, including finance, personnel, staff training, governance, buildings maintenance, project management, IT and pupil administration.  You will be expected to have a flexible approach to work and occasionally attend meetings and functions out of the school day or in the school holidays.

The governors are looking for someone who is first and foremost interested in managing the business of the school.  You should have a warm and friendly personality and the ability to communicate with people at all levels, including visitors, staff and governors, children and their parents and carers, alike.

The business administrator apprenticeship is a level 3 qualification, equivalent to A Level standard, and candidates should be prepared to study hard to achieve this over the 12 month period.  The school is succession planning within its administrative arm and the successful candidate will play a key role in the strategy.  Only serious applications will be considered (previous applicants need not apply).

The school was Ofsted inspected in 2010, 2012 and 2017 and graded as “Outstanding” on each occasion.  It has been described by inspectors as having a ‘magical atmosphere of calm, nurture and fun’ (Ofsted 2010); and being ‘a treasure trove of opportunities where children can be themselves and bloom’ (Ofsted 2017).

Shortlisted candidates are welcome to visit the school by appointment.

We are committed to safeguarding our children and each other. Shortlisted candidates will be required to have read the school’s Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and this will be referred to in interview. The successful candidate will be required to apply for enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.  Further details can be found on
